When Good Dresses Happen To Good People With No Style...

I blogged this Marchesa dress after it showed in the Fall 2010 show, and never imagined it would turn up on the VMA’s white carpet, NOR did I imagine it would be worn by Katy Perry!

Now, no disrespect to Ms Perry whose ‘Teenage Dream’ was my song of the summer, but she doesn’t exactly represent the magnificence of high fashion, which is what this dress epitomises. This is not a marriage of equals.

My guess is, Ms Perry liked this dress because it has both poof AND sparkle (which would appear to be what she looks for in a dress), but I think she misunderstood the nature of this particular poof and sparkle. Bad. Bad, bad, bad.

High Heels, High Drama...

When I discovered that Louboutin had done a range of shoes for Marchesa, I had a fashion spasm. What a fabulous pairing! And look, what fabulous shoes…
Also, real or not, these tattoos are awesome...

Marchesa & The Marriage Market

My grandmother's generation were the last real débutantes, HOWEVER, if someone sees sense and invites me to the Crillon Ball, this is what I'll be wearing...

Marchesa's Fall collection was a parade of frills and lace straight from my dreams...

I especially love the tattoo effect used on this dress... Like the Chanel temporary tattoos, but... Cooler...
