Miro Mama

You know you’ve been away from a thread too long, when you revisit only to find that the subject is pregnant! Congratulations to the beautiful Miroslava! I can’t believe she’s SO pregnant and I had no idea! Here she is with her bump in London -- utterly fabulous!

DSquared2: The Only Maths I Like

I hadn't seen this a/w show until I stumbled upon it at my.opera.com. It strongly relates my post about how rushing has become part of our process of accessorizing. Well, DSquared2 certainly has illustrated my point well! I love that the models are carrying Starbucks (and I’m sure Starbucks love it too….). It’s very zeitgeist-y (yes, I made that up). I also love how they’ve really embraced layering – the practical side of fashion finally showing its face! These looks are actually wearable and you mind not freeze your teeny-weeny, size-0 ass off…
This look also really reminded me or Miroslava’s pairing a floor-length dress with a leather jacket –- it’s white tie meets street style, and I love it!

Bag It 'n' Tag It...

I wasn't sure about Miroslava's Chloe shorts when I first saw them, but I was intrigued by the waist band... Now, I'm seeing it everywhere.

Paperbag it, Baby!

I completely love it, I think it's a really modern, sexy way to do tailoring...

I'm putting these Topshop shorts on my Must Have List, also known as 'I Don't Need Food, Fashion Feeds Me More' List...

When I Grow Up...

I was going to post this picture from Stockholm Street Style, under the pretense of 'When I grow up I want to dress like this...'

...but then MIROSLAVA happened!

She looks so sophisticated. It really works.

I just want to be her. So badly.

Miroslava Slays Me...

...with her style!

Prada clutch? Love. Kelly Double Tour? LOVE. I don't know where her watch is from, but I LOVE IT!

I found this Michael Kors at ASOS.com… I love the idea of this kind of chic-mafia bling… It’s also a little masculine, but just looks oh so stylish on her.

The Hermes Kelly Double Tour is way up on my Wish List… When I have a spare £265 (ha!) it will never leave my wrist.

Obviously, it’s not real style if I copy every detail of her outfit, but I can’t help myself.

Miroslava, you rock my world!

The Love'n'Lame Lists

The LOVE List

Natalia

Just utterly, UTTERLY gorgeous. A total girl-crush, but also pretty life legendary. Married to Lord Portman and mama to a growing brood, Natalia just has that doe-eyed-but-perverse look about her that makes her utterly delicious to look at.

Miroslava

Obviously the newest addition to the Love List. Everything I wish I was, and some of the things I am (5 foot 2 and brunette!) she's no.1 in the style stakes.

Anna

Not an obvious role model in many ways, but just so fucking fabulous at her job. Chilly, brilliant, no-nonsense and Queen of the fashion world. All hail!

Grace

For having the kind of creative vision which make me crave Vogue and all its magical shoots.

Kate
For being Marianna, and for being Hanna. A truly ballsy English rose.

Emma

There isn't a cooler woman in the world. Part of the Cambridge footlights crew from the beginning, and gives of the air of being a total bloody legend. I want to be her friend so badly...

The LAME List

Sienna

For being famous for sleeping with Jude Law. Never ever ever a good reason to be famous. Bad actress, bad designer, bad taste in men. 'The September List' ultimately exposed her as wholly talentless. Also, for promoting the scruffy-boho look. Peasant tops? Boo!

Emma

Watch her eyebrows when she 'acts'. They're incredible. Not a style icon, no matter how much her PR would like her to be. Rude and superior, by all accounts. Always ironic coming from someone rather lacking in superior talent or skill.

My New Favourite Game!

Perhaps predictably, I think Polyvore is the greatest of man’s inventions. I’m coming late to the game, I know, but come on! It’s essentially the grown up version of those paper dress up dolls I had as a child.

I’m channeling 'black is the new black’ and ‘leather is the new spandex’ with a hint of Miroslava’s mind-blowing jacket collection.

Blazer, Elizabeth & James. Skirt, brownsfashion.com. Tank, brownsfashion.com. Boots, Christian Louboutin. Pendent, Tiffany & Co. Tights, Falke.

Jacket. 3.1 Phillip Lim. Jeans, J Brands. T-Shirt, vintage (mytheresa.com). Shoes, Prada. Bag, Marc Jacobs.Watch, Michael Kors. Sunglasses, Raybans.

Style Icon: Miroslava Duma

In a recent post there was a photograph of Miroslava Duma, who, until I saw that photo, I had never heard of.

After hours of stalking her on TPF, I am completely and utterly in fashion love with her.

Her smile, her attitude, her hair, her wardrobe, her accessories, herSELF. I am just obsessed. My boyfriend is both concerned and jealous...

I now get dressed in the morning with her in mind - play with proportion, play with the ideas of the smart with the casual, and most of all, BIG SHOES! I'm no expert at heels during the day, but the only way to learn is to practice practice practice!

And That's How It's Done...

Living in Scotland, coupling style and warmth is imperative. During my first year of university here, I fell into the rut of wearing layers and layers of sweaters, which, anyone will tell you, the easiest way of feeling hideous.

I just saw this image on style.com and, boy! I've never seen a cliché worn so well!

Is it the aviators? Is it the gilet? Perhaps it's the attitude.

This is Miroslava Duma. Allegedly, she is an editor at Russia's Harper's Bazaar, which, aged 24, is fairly spectacular!

What makes this picture even better is that the fabulous Grace Coddington, my absolute hero, is her usual fiery self in the background!
